Problem #1 Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising Crashes in-game / before a map gets loaded
Solution #1: Disable Anti Aliasing in the game menu

Problem #2 Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising crashes after cinematics
Solution
1. Changed Anti-aliasing on my Nvidia 3d settings to application controlled.
2. disabled family protection with start/run/services.msc
3. control panel/add-remove programs/ uninstall Windows live essentials/continue/family protection uninstalled.
4. went into steamapps/dow2/renamed DOW2.module **pre mods could screw up the game**
5. right click DOW2.exe /properties/compatibility/windows vista service pack 2/ also check run as administrator box.
6. opened steam/dow2 chaos rising properties/local files/verify integrity of cache to add a new DOW2.module

2. RETARDED ERROR MESSAGES
Problem #1 Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising Parental Control Error message “The current user does not have permissions to play Dawn of War II”
Solution
The controls feature I had issues with was Windows Live Family Safety which is installed by default w/ Windows Live Essentials (even if you just want to install Messenger or whatnot, if you don’t do a custom install it will insert itself).
- To get rid of it, open up your Services panel (Start -> Run -> services.msc) and scroll down until you see Windows Live Family Safety.
- Right click the entry and select Properties. Do the same for the Parental Control service
- click the Stop Button, and in the drop down list above the stop/start/restart buttons select ‘Disabled’. Click Ok to apply.
- Next, go into Add/Remove Programs and select Windows Live Essentials and select ‘Uninstall’
- Click Continue and check the Windows Live Family Safety checkbox, click continue to remove this from your machine.
For some odd reason this particular parental control ’suite’ is completely separate from the standard Windows Parental Controls, and they don’t give you a warning that it is going to be installed with Live Essentials. It irritated me to no end when it happened to me – and made sure I remembered to do a custom install for any Essentials apps I wanted to use.

Problem #2 : Dawn of War 2 Error “xlive.dll not found error”
Solution #1
1) Go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Uninstall the “Microsoft Games for Windows LIVE Redistributable” if it is installed
2) Download and install the latest LIVE Redistributable from microsoft
Solution #2 If you encounter this error right after installing Warhammer Dawn of War 2, try to restart your computer first because there are known issues with Games For Live not working properly when it has been installed from a previous title (especially Steam titles)

Solution: Open up your system folder(right click on my computer, go to properties), click on the ‘Advanced’ tab, find the

DEP for all programs and services except those I select:’ Then click ‘Add’ and locate your .exe for Badcompany2 in your game’s directory in steam. Click OK
and restart your computer. This should solve some people’s CTD’s, but I can’t guarantee it will work for everyone.

without it hard freezing. It’s some kind of sound hardware conflict”
