2 Weeks ago, a discussion about the price cut for North American PlayStation 3 have been speculated over Gamespot’s Rumor Control page. Sony, after 2 weeks, pretty much wrapped things up as they confirmed that the 40GB North American PlayStation 3 gets the green and is on their way to the markets on November 2, 2007.
The 40GB Playstation 3 will not be backwards compatible with Playstation 2 games, comes bundled with a Spiderman 3 Blu-ray movie, Does not have a memory card holder and loses 2 of the USB ports will retail for $399.
The 80GB Playstation 3 will now then be sold for only $499.00.
Competing consoles, though cheaper, are now closer to Playstation 3’s price.

Australia’s Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) banned Soldier of Fortune, making it illegal to sell or own the first-person shooter game from Activision. This means that the game didn’t even pass the MA15+ classification. The MA+15+ restriction prohibits games that 15 year olds in Australia can’t play due to gore, nudity, violence or drug-related stuff. The reason for SoF : Payback being banned, according to OFLC is that “playing impact… was a high impact which exceeded the MA15+ classification” - “close range shooting with substantial blood spray, blood splatters onto the ground and walls, [the ability to] target various limbs of the opponent which can result in dismemberment, and large amounts of blood sprayed which comes from the stump but victims sometime stay alive”. With OFLC saying that, im sure a lot of gamers would be more than interested to own the game now.
Other games that are banned in Australia are
BMX XXX, Manhunt, GTA-3, GTA San Andreas, Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude, Postal, Postal 2, Narc and more. Some toned-down version of the banned games have been allowed in Australia (GTA3).
Soldiers of Fortune : Pay back is set to be released in November 13, 2007.

Hellgate London’s Website, in their recent news announced that Hellgate: London is jumping into the demo-hungry crowd of gamers. Within a week, gamers have been showered with demos from history’s most anticipated games like Unreal Tournament 3 and Call of Duty 4. Hellgate: London seems to be the “final boss” for this week’s flurry or demo games. Download links will be posted here as soon as the demo goes live tomorrow. Oh and by the way, judging from the demos that have been released these past few days, i think a lot of us have some upgrading to do.

San Francisco, CA (October 16, 2007) – Demons of London beware! Your reign of terror is officially coming to an end! Electronic Arts, Namco Bandai Games, and Flagship Studios are excited to announce that Hellgate™: London has gone to gold master and will be available exclusively for the PC on October 31st in North America.
“This has been an amazing journey for us and we couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished,” said Flagship Studios CEO, Bill Roper. “We’re anxious to get Hellgate: London into gamers’ hands and we can’t wait to play right along with them.”
And for gamers who can’t wait until Halloween to get their Demon-slaying on, Flagship Studios is releasing a singleplayer demo this Friday, October 19th.
The singleplayer demo represents just a small taste of the Hellgate: London experience. Gamers can choose from two of the game’s six character classes: the Blademaster, a master of swordplay and action-packed melee combat, or the Marksman, a cool, calculating, long-range specialist.
In the demo, these heroes are able to battle through a small handful of storyline and side quests as they adventure through the streets and tunnels around London’s Holborn Station.
Hellgate: London combines the depth of role-playing games and the action of first-person shooter titles, while offering infinite playability with dynamically generated levels, items, enemies, and events. Whether online or off, a player creates a heroic character, completes quests, and battles through innumerable hordes of demons to advance through experience levels and branching skill paths. A robust, flexible skill and spell system, highly customizable appearances, and a massive variety of randomly generated equipment allow players to create their own unique hero.
