2 Weeks ago, a discussion about the price cut for North American PlayStation 3 have been speculated over Gamespot’s Rumor Control page. Sony, after 2 weeks, pretty much wrapped things up as they confirmed that the 40GB North American PlayStation 3 gets the green and is on their way to the markets on November 2, 2007.



The 40GB Playstation 3 will not be backwards compatible with Playstation 2 games, comes bundled with a Spiderman 3 Blu-ray movie, Does not have a memory card holder and loses 2 of the USB ports will retail for $399.

The 80GB Playstation 3 will now then be sold for only $499.00.

Competing consoles, though cheaper, are now closer to Playstation 3′s price.

Wii – $249

Xbox 360 Core – $279

Xbox 360 Pro. – $349

Xbox 360 Elite. – $449
