Heroes is a modification for StarCraft Brood War in which you will play the game by controlling a single character. You can buy things and utilities you need, and you will get help and support from other persons and creatures in the game.

To install StarCraft Heroes, unpack ALL files from the zip-archive ‘HeroesEngl.zip’ into your StarCraft folder. Heroes
will automatically create the needed subdirectories. And that’s all.

02. Getting Started

To start StarCraft Heroes, please make sure to execute the file ‘StarCraft Heroes (Engl).exe’ instead of the normal
StarCraft file. Please notice as well that Heroes was tested only on Brood War Patch 1.10. It is included with the
zip-file.
Now, go to the StarCraft main menue and choose ‘Single Player’. Choose ‘Custom Maps’ and then you will find the
campaigns in the folder ‘campaign\Heroes\…\. Have fun!

Tip: StarCraft Heroes does NOT support any other games but the Heroes-Campaigns because the balancing
is not given any longer. Do NOT use Heroes for “normal” strategy games.

F: What is Heroes?
A: It is a mod for StarCraft Brood War by Blizzard Entertainment.

F: What is a mod?
A: A modification. It changes the game (i.e. units and buildings) to create an alternate version of the game itself.

F: Why Patch 1.10?
A: Heroes was tested on Patch 1.10 only. Please make sure it is installed when you run StarCraft Heroes.

F: Where can I find the Heroes Campaigns?
A: In the folder ‘campaign\Heroes\…’ as ‘Custom Maps’ from the Single Player menue.

F: Can I play the campaigns without Heroes?
A: No. The mod does basic changes to untis and buildings. The gameplay would get lost.

F: Can I play “normal” StarCraft games with Heroes?
A: No. The balancing would get lost. We recommand NOT to do that.

F: Is there a similar mod that does support “normal” games?
A: Yes. StarCraft Gold is the strategy predecessor you can find on our website.

F: Why a StarCraft Roleplay game?
A: Why not?

F: Will StarCraft Brood War get lost?
A: No. No files will be overwritten. StarCraft Brood War will still be playable as before.

F: Will there be official multiplayer maps for StarCraft Heroes?
A: No, but a modificated version of StarEdit is included. And the campaigns will be available for 2 players.

F: Where do I get more information?
A: On www.PythiaDelphin.de (German language)

04. Uninstall

To uninstall Heroes (why would you do that? Are you crazy?) just delete the files “StarCraft Heroes (Engl).exe” and
“Heroes StarEdit (Engl).exe” in your StarCraft folder. And delete the whole folder “Heroes” in “maps\campaign\”.
That’s all.

05. Licence

StarCraft Heroes is freeware and may be copied and given to others. But: Completely and without modifications. For
the product may go from player to player until it reaches YOU, the author can not guarantee that there will be nothing
damaged by the product. To be sure you have the original version, just go to our website and download the original
