“Doom is part of the id Software DNA and demands the greatest talent and brightest minds in the industry to bring the next installment of our flagship franchise to Earth.” – CEO Todd Hollenshead

ID software has opened it’s doors (gates of hell?) for those who wants to have a shot at helping create Doom’s latest sequel, Doom 4. Based on the Job listings that ID software posted, they are interested in people who can develop games in console and PC gaming platforms. It’s not really surprising if we see Doom 4 for PS3 or Doom 4 for xbox 360 since thats where the gaming trend is going.

ID software still hasn’t revealed if they will be reusing the Doom 3 engine or if they will base the new engine out of that. But if Id software wants doom 4 to be successful, they should think about the elements that made doom 1 and 2 a hit – Monster density. Yeah, some of you might say the reason why Doom 1 and 2 became so popular was because it was when FPS was perfected with the technology at that time and basically all other games that rivaled doom back then were trash and doom gave people the feeling of uhh…”Gaming-scene Renaissance”. Well, you cant expect Doom 4 to pull up something like that because gaming, both singleplayer and multiplayer aspects have undergone a lot of this “renaissance” that the only ooooh-factor that games get would be from maximizing the graphics and processing capability of the PC or console and improving realism… which basically every game being developed right now is trying to achieve.

ID has these positions open for old and new talents who might be interested in developing Doom 4
