Well well.. what do we have here…Blizzard has prepared a Diablo 3 section for their battle.net forums! I hope this is not an off-season april fool’s joke. First, Diablo3.com gets hosted on AT&T servers (which houses several Bnet servers for Diablo 2 and WoW) then This… Is it just me or is Blizzard preparing for Diablo 3 too early. But honesty if Blizzard is intending to have Diablo 3 as the big surprise at the last day of the World Wide Invitation 2008, it wont be that much of a surprise anymore… Nah who am I kidding, it would kick major ass and induce multiple orgasms to the 3000 people attending the WWI Paris Convention.

Blizzard has updated their sites’ splash page. This time the eyes are more clearer now and hints of the texture of the face looks similar to a Protoss’. There’s also this new rune at the 12 o clock position. The css also reveals this line .evilpenguin {background:url(_images/42.jpg) no-repeat 0 0} / which links to a picture of our purple bugger’s face… an EVIL penguin indeed. No it’s not a hydra, it’s not rick astley, not DASHOW’s purple walrus, not an EGGPLANT… but a purple penguin
The puzzle is also finalized since 2 pieces were revealed today harbinger or _images/08.jpg is also revealed, in fact prior to the 42.jpg.

Starting June 28, 2008 11:45 (UTC +1:OO) you can start viewing live streams from Blizzard’s World Wide Invitation 2008. There will be 2 streams, one for the Main Stage and another for the Tournament stage (Starcraft, Starcraft 2, Warcraft III and WoW Tournaments) both of which would be live and in parallel streaming. Two WWI 2008 stream resolutions would be available. 400 kbps and 1000 kbps for those who have a decent connection. To view these streams you would need to download the Octoshape plugin/codecs. It would be wiser to install the player/codecs now before the rest of the Blizzard loving world overloads the download servers. Linux :
Requirements

• Sun Java 1.5 or above
• libstdc++.so.6 (installed on most Linux distributions by default)
• An http-enabled media player (mplayer)

Setup procedure

• Download the .bin file and make it executable with the command chmod +x octosetup-linux_i386.bin
• Execute ./octosetup-linux_i386.bin and follow the installation instructions
• Enter the newly created directory “octoshape” and edit the file “setup.xml”. Enter the path of your libjvm.so file in setup.xml, like this:

  		<e JavaExec="/path/to/libjvm.so" />

• Proceed to “Using the Octoshape plug-in”

Using the Octoshape plug-in

1. Navigate to the Linux play page
2. Use the string from the “Play” column to play your stream. Pass the string as the -url argument to OctoshapeClient like this:
   ./OctoshapeClient -url:XYZ.xyz
3. A media player should launch (default is mplayer) and play the file.
