Rob Pardo revealed today that the Starcraft 2 campaign will be a trilogy. The order of the Starcraft 2 trilogy campaign will be similar to StarCraft’s, with the Terran campaign “Wings of Liberty” opening the StarCraft 2 story and with Jim Raynor leading the Terran forces. Next is the Zerg campaign “Heart of the Swarm” with Kerrigan leading the Zerg Forces. And Zeratul leading what remains of the once glorious protoss and dark templars in the 3rd campaign “Legacy of the Void”.

Pardo explained that by doing this, each campaign can have up to 26-30 missions and more cinematics in between missions and each campaign would be epic instead of having the last mission of each campaign an introduction to the next.
Rob Pardo didn’t make it clear though whether the 3 campaigns would be released at the same time and how much the game would cost, nor if the game will be standalone or if you would require at least the first Starcraft 2 campaign to play multiplayer.
Here’s a sample cinematic featuring Zeratul and Kerrigan (Thanks to Lipton)
