The problem is not with the games its with the fact that nobody’s pc is the same and game makers make the game on a specific system and that tends to screw with other systems. Take my situation bioshock crashed every time i launch it. (been pissing me off for weeks.) but fallout 3 runs perfect never had a game crash but a butt load of glitches and i have been playing it since day of release. and some of the comments i have seen on this thread are having the exact opposite problems. the fact is that this is a good game but its forced to be put out in only 2 or 3 years time but a game of this magnitude needs at least 5 years to work out all the bugs. so in other words F*CK Bethesda’s CEO’s and shareholders but not its game developers. thanks for putting up with my rant

Old file not found. however, a file of the same time was found. no update done since file contents do not match.
For those of you who havent already fixed this what the problem is is that youre applying the wrong patch. Im assuming that you just downloaded the patch from mirror 1 on this site which is the US patch. If you are running the US version of the game it should patch fine but is your using the UK version then it wont patch.The same with the UK patch on US game. All you have to do is download the correct patch-mirror 3 for UK version.

By the way,if some of you experience a slow down or the game starts stuttering after a while of playing,while it was smooth when you started the game you may try this ingame.

Press ~ to bring up the console

( Some of you do not see a console due to your resolution,but its still there anyway if u just press ~ once)

With the console open type in “pcb” without the quotes this is Purge cell buffer;and should supposedly
free up memory and may increase performance,it seems to work for me.

I quit playing Fallout 3 a few months ago.I installed it a few days ago,Would have thought bethesda fixed the crashes with the patches they released..well..i installed the patches ..runned the game,and it cashed!..over and over and over.haha fucking incredible.SO..i downloaded the Skullptura final fix again and applied that over the patch.Runned the game after..and No Crash…Seiously Bethesda YOU SUCK!,some cracker can fix your game,but this BIG multi million company with i dont know how many developers who made the game cannot?!!Commit Seppuku! The shame is too great!
