Comments on: Fixing Fear 2 Black screen errors, Crashes, Freezes and Crack steam installs

As far as i can tell none of these solutions work for me, when i start F.e.a.r. 2 i see the loading orb in the lower right of the screen and then everything goes black and windows says “f.e.a.r. 2 has stopped working” and nothing else. I then tried running it in safe mode: All the intro movies play without fault (and without sound of course) and i come to the main menu without problems, i then proceed with auto detecting performance and everything gets bumped up to maximum, i start a new game and it starts without problem (except no sound, and how much fun is f.e.a.r without sound?). The fact that the game runs exeptionally with sound disabled drives me to the conclusion that my problem is a sound card issue. I tried downloading all new drivers for everything in my computer but the problem remains. So compatibility? I use the sound card built into my motherboard (MSI GF615M-P33, Socket-AM3, m-ATX, GeForce 6150se, DDR3,SATAII, GbLAN, PCI-Ex16) and a PowerColor Radeon HD 4670 “PCS” 512MB PCI-Express 2.0, GDDR4, DVI, HDMI, HDCP graphics card on Windows 7. Can anyone make any sense of this? please? If it helps i sort of have the same problem with f.e.a.r 1 witch i used to play fine on my old computer. The licence screen plays but without sound, then the sierra, monolith, nvidia, etc… all play WITH sound, then when i come to the main menu there once again is no sound and when i start a new game it skips past all dialogue(in the briefing room the screen fades to black right when the first person is about to start talking, then it flashes past all the flash backs, into the car where i get the briefing screen before the car stops and when i press the “any” key to exit the briefing screen i get pushed out of the car before it passes the dumpster on the right and i get stuck in or behind it.

when i download mods or custum stuff to the sims3,when i start playing and enter create a sim,it freezes ,the screen turns black and i can’tdo anything.the music is still playing.i tried downloading the monkeyface helper and winRAR and it won’t fix the problems.i don’t know ANYTHING about a video card.i got this computer 2005.i don’t have an e-mail anymore because i deleted it.PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fear 2 loaded fine but is very very laging sound and viedo dont match and is very jurkie you shoot it take 2=3 secounds to hear it can you help i have a hp -p dv 9600

1. Run the vcredist.exe and dxsetup.exe
If you’re running Installshield – in the installer folder (what you downloaded, not the program files folder), there is a folder called support. The vcredist.exe is found there. In that same folder, there is a DirectX9 folder. Run the dxsetup.exe in that folder.

Hi! When I start the it starts the loading and then it pops out !

But when i disable sound card the game works properly i can play but no sound I have C-media pci audio CMI 8738

i dont know what to doo i have reinstald direct x new sound drivers new graphic card drivers but it want work !! i am going crazy so please help Thanks !! p.s soryy for bad english !!

hi all, my problem is: when I pass (i don’t know what’s the name of the mission), my game crashes on loading, it gets to 50% and then i get kicked out on desktop.

any suggestions how to fix this?

I am having the same problem as several people on this forum.

hello, when i end chapter 4, whithdrawl, the part when the pipes blow up including the staircases, and the player falls, the loading pop ups and the screen goes black with the loading sign in blue on the bottom right corner, and immediatly goes to the main menu… i tried to go to the mission select and launch the 5th chapter, replica, the screen goes black, and returns to the main menu again. Is there any solution to this, besides uninstalling and reinstalling?

When I got into interval 4 and went to go through the hole in the wall. It was all black except for some blocks floating around. But I could see the the enemie’s weapons. They shoot at me… so the game was going on. after a couple of shutdowns and retries, now the level only loads to 87% and freezes. I want to reinstall. But I hate to with the wonderful limited install feature. Any thoughts?

Hello. There was good tips in this site, but none of them did not fix my black screen problem. When I start F.E.A.R 2, screen goes black, nothing happens. At first try it worked, but that was it. It refuses to start now. I’d really like to play this game. Any new tips?

i have a problem with fear 2…….when i start the campaign ……at that progress…….it goes to 63 per cent and then it stops………please help me…….and tell me what can i do…..because it’s a good game and i don’t wanna miss it :D;)
