Game is very slow so slow that i cant play.I bought a new computer with 5 gig of memory I dont know what to do!

I had similar dropouts until changing Terrain Detail to low. Game now playing as it is supposed to, thanks to Sewje.

The game will start but there won’t be any characters or building or anyting also the video when starting the campaign jumps etc

I’ve narrowed down a few specific issues when playing/Loading the game, for some reason either from a DirectX update or driver update, the game will not longer run in DX10 mode? not sure if it ever did, but only specifying dx9 in one of the config file will allow the loading of the game.
This issue I think relates to the next issue major fps drop with terrain detail anything above low setting, everything else can be max and theres barely any performance hit but once terrain detail is set above lowest then the fps goes as low as 2fps, compared to 27fps before, thats some major fps issue!
Again these issues only started to happen after some updates, as I have remembered playing the game on max details with no problems and no major slowdown.
To be specific why the issues are related, is I’ve noticed DX9 mode in Windows 7 is actually worse on the Latest ATI RADEON 5000 series compared to DX10 for games, good for DX10 but anything that uses DX9 seemes to suffer in W7. Only fix to solve these problems I found is to either switch to Nvidia or go back to XP or Vista, Since my laptop has Vista, it’s much lower spec than my desktop yet it doesn’t seem to have the same issue! with max details it’s actually faster than my desktop… so ati4650m c2d7300 2gb > ati5750 q2q6600 4gb? i don’t think so!

I just had to say i tinkered a little and found the best way to fix graphics issues. Go into DoW II Folder, go to settings and delete configuration.lua. This solved nearly everyone ive spoken tos problem with most issues.

I’m getting this error saying, “Failed to find a supported hardware rendering device. Ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements for Dawn of War II. Verify that DirectX is properly installed and that you have the latest drivers for your system.”
