Death walks again
A new Mechwarrior game for the PC is finally in the works a year and a half after Smith and Tinker purchased the rights to Mechwarrior titles. There’s no official title for the new Mechwarrior game yet (Mechwarrior 5? ). With the trend of game development nowadays, there’s a high possibility that this new Mechwarrior game will be ported or developed for 360 and/or PS3 consoles as well. Judging from the Mechwarrior reveal trailer (embedded below), the gameplay’s gonna be oldschool cockpit-view a.k.a Mechwarrior-game-done-right style. Which is awesome because i didn’t like the MechAssault series where the gameplay’s nothing close to what MechWarrior games are known for.
My comment on this trailer? Graphics looks awesome and I hope it’s in game and not some pre-rendered crap. It’s Mechwarrior 3`esque which is nice. Mechwarrior 4′s graphics is good but it’s too cartoonish for a Mechwarrior title. But one thing i find disturbing in this video is the Warhammer pilot’s skills (well, the lack of it)… Yeah, he did a great job in taking the light mech down without any trouble… Of course the Warhammer far outclasses any light mech in most situations. But he should’ve paid more attention to where he’s going. How could you miss something as big as an Atlas? He didn’t pay attention to his radar when his drone clearly said that it found 2 hostiles within the area. Ok he bumped into the atlas… what did he do? well he fought with the atlas in close range combat… WTF. Ok here’s what’s even more disturbing… the Atlas almost went down… ok wth, an Atlas should be able to cheese take on at least 2 Warhammer at the same time, but still he almost went down when he was up against a novice pilot. The pilots of that Atlas or that Battlehammer better not be a clanner because that would be depressing. Well, The trailer said the year was 3015 but the clanners invade I.S. at 3050 so we’re pretty safe. The game would Prolly take place during the 3rd succsesion war?
