– List of Batman Arkham Asylum Errors and solutions –

Problem #1 : Physx is disabled in Batman Arkham Asylum (How to Enable Batman Arkham Asylum Physx)
Solution : (posted on filenetworks)
If the option to turn on PhysX is missing from the in game menu, try the following.

1. Browse to directory C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Eidos\Batman Arkham Asylum\BmGame\Config
2. Open UserEngine.ini file with a text editor such as Notepad.
3. Change the line PhysXLevel=0 so that it reads PhysXLevel=1
4. Save and close the file. Run the game

Problem #2 : Enabling Physx causes Batman Arkham Asylum to crash
Solution :
A. ) Make sure that you have a card capable of rendering Physx effect or a dedicated Physx card when you enable Physx. If it is enabled and you have the Physx option enabled, disable it by reversing the method posted in Problem #1
B. ) If you have a Physx capable card, make sure you update your video card drivers.

Issue and solution #3 : (posted on filenetworks)
well another problem. (i think) when you get to the point at arkham north at the point where you need to batclaw the upper access point and enter the mansion, there is no mark for the grapple. i found that the mark is misplaced. it’s marked towards the entrance to the island, and when you press it, it just grapple you all the way to the other side and thru the the walls and than you just falls off the map and come back at the other side of the island. and it’s always like this. either it’s me (i doubt it) or it’s another hidden protection trigger.”
Solution

Problem #4 : Batman Arkham Asylum error “Microsoft .Net Framework
Unhandled exception occured in your application.
Value was either too large or too small for an Int32.”

Solution :
A.) Update your .Net framework. Go to system update then tick the .net framework related releases then update.
B. ) For Windows 7 users or those users who can’t update via Window’s built-in system update, you might want to try http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=333325FD-AE52-4E35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en

Problem #5 : No in-game sounds but sounds play in cutscenes and intro (posted by Mania)
Solution : (posted by Mania)
Turn down (or turn off) Directsound Acceleration

Problem #6 :

  6. Hameed — September 22, 2009 @ 3:06 pm

    Hi,
When I installing Batman Arkham Asylum(BAA) through BAA Installation Wizard, I interrupted the install. So I tried to uninstall BAA, uninstall was not successful. So, deleted BAA from registry and deleted the installed files.

Now, when I try to re-install BAA, I don’t get the Install Game option highlighted in the BAA installation wizard. So not able to install game. I have cleaned the registry using ‘Registrt Aid’ and ‘Ccleaner’, still not able to install.

Need your assistance in installing BAA.

I’m encountering a rather nasty bug right now where the graphics are really glitchy. Randomly, various parts of the game can be seen through, leading to headless or bodyless people, see-through floors, and lately, completely invisible people (A real pain since I’m at a boss right now, can’t even see him.)

I’m about to try the 1.1 patch to see if that fixes it. It should also be noted that my CPU is just barely under the minimum requirements, but I can still run the game fine otherwise, as long as the game is the only thing running.

  8. mahin — September 23, 2009 @ 2:32 am

Hallo, well same problem. fingerprint error. what the hell is this and how can be fixed or where can we download a crack that will do the trick?

  9. brandon — September 23, 2009 @ 2:35 am

    Hi guys,

I installed the game with no problems. I started the game, eveything is fiine, I installed the 1.1 patch and latest PhysX drivers.
The game runs well untill the X Ray Lab.
When you have to blow up the 2 walls to save the doc.

The game crashes when I go too close from any wall.
It’s kind of spectacular! Black screen, then blue screen with some stuff written that I don’t have time to read, and then it restarts the computer.
This crash happened to me dozens of times, anywher I am in the room.

    I have a Core2duo E6300@2.4Ghz
    4 gigs DDR
    Ge Force 8800 GTS 512mo.
    Sound Blaster
    Windows XP sp3
    DirectX 9c
PhysX is set to normal, I also tried with PhysX disabled but it still crashes.

    Any ideas?
    Thank you very much,
    Brandon

  13. X — October 5, 2009 @ 12:34 am

Problem: If Batman isn’t moving (walking/running/gliding), the camera (controlled by the mouse) moves incredibly slowly, as though the sensitivty for the mouse has been set to 1. When he is moving (specifically, when I’m holding one of the WASD movement keys; the camera doesn’t work properly if he’s moving by way of a non-movement-related animation like punching), the camera moves fine, nice and quick. It hasn’t been this way the entire time I’ve been playing; it started when I fired the game up this morning. Until then, the mouse would move the camera with fine quickness around Batman.

  14. X — October 5, 2009 @ 12:58 am

Weird: I restarted and the problem resolved itself. Oh well, I guess the easiest solution is often the best solution! Good luck to everyone on resolving their issues; it’s truly a game to be enjoyed.

  15. Robin — October 5, 2009 @ 4:29 am

    @Brandon

Batman Arkham Asylum Errors, Crashes, Freezes and Shit’s it self!

When im done walking trough the intro sequence, and the game is about to start. There comes a small bat as an indication that the game is loading.

And there the game just freezes, i’ve actually tryed waiting for like 30 min. But nothing happend, but the bat is still turning as the indication of it loading.

Dont know if its a freeze or something else, but i cant seem to find any solution to the problem. I’ve tried the no intro patch, but that didnt work either.

I hope someone has an answer to this problem.

  24. Bim — October 22, 2009 @ 3:06 am

Hello. Bought the game last Sunday. I tried installing it and it would do fine until the part where it says it needs to install additional software. It just stops. I have to do system restores after that because I can’t uninstall it.

I want to play the game. What do I do? :(

  25. Simon — October 22, 2009 @ 3:42 am

    What is your pc spec’s?

  26. Bim — October 22, 2009 @ 9:18 am

    Specs are:
    Q6600 2.4ghz core 2 quad
4 gig RAM, although Vista detects only 3
    9800 GT gpu
    P6 SLI mobo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  27. Simon — October 22, 2009 @ 9:54 pm

When Vista only detects 3gb ram. I assume that u havent installed SP1 and SP2 (SP = Service Pack). It might help, as it helped me with Arma 2. So i reccomend that u install those.

  28. Bim — October 22, 2009 @ 10:28 pm

Oooohhh! Okay, I’ll give it a shot! Thank you very much!

  33. anonymous — November 6, 2009 @ 6:39 pm

Hello there. To the people having problems such as freezing and crashes,I may have the solutions. For those who freeze during loading,it means that the next area’s file doesn’t exist in ur comp. For those who encounter invisible walls, they probably have bugs in the game.Sorry to say but I cannot recommend any good crack websites ‘coz I never tried them before. For those who keeps getting crashes have to download saved files which has already progressed further.WARNING:You could miss a few stuff. If ur lucky,u’ll find some saved files on the net or u could copy from ur friends(that is if they have em)

    Well that’s all I could say.Good luck to u all….
As for me,I am just waiting for it to finish installing the game.Just bought it.Wish me luck.

    Cheers….=)

  34. WINSTON — November 7, 2009 @ 7:04 pm

Where to start…. hangs randomly during installation, hangs when installation complete and “trying to install software required to run batman…”?

Fingerprint error once or twice, but stuck on general protection fault now.

Installing on 32bit windows seven ultimate, new boxed version. GPU - 4870×2. Batman is boxed version not D2D.

  37. Petrus — November 19, 2009 @ 3:08 am

Hi, I also have a problem with Batman not giving the option on some places in the game were I need to grappel to a higher area. The game just not open the option to press (f) and shoot is rope to climb up! it once helped me to restart the game from the beginning, but I am about 35% into the game and for sure don’t want to start the game from the beginning again! Thanks

  38. Anonymous — November 19, 2009 @ 7:30 pm

    Movement glitch

If I press CTRL+Spacebar, then the WASD keys have no effect: Batman will just stand still and my computer will beep if I press the keys.

I have contacted Eidos about this. I guess they’ll get back to me.

Has any else experienced this kind of problem?
