BORDERLANDS PC FIXES

Problem #1 : Borderlands install error message “Installation ended prematurely because of an error.”
Solution : It seems that a lot of Windows 7 users are getting this error message. This error message is not related to Borderlands. First, try to remove all files in your temp directory to make sure that the Borderlands installation files are not retrieved from a corrupted cache. If you still get that error then it could be a Drive or MSI Installer related problem so try to reinstall your MSI drivers and if that doesny work you might wanna try a fix similar to the one specified here -> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/230895 . And if you still get that error, post about it in the comment box below.

Problem #2 : Borderlands install error on Windows 7

as posted by Anthonyianoco

1) Make sure you update you DirectX, you can follow this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d…a-9b6652cd92a3
WARNING: Even though this isn’t the main point of this thread, you will have to install a second time if you skip this step, and it will only waste you time not to do this step.2) When attempting to install, you will see this error: “Installation ended prematurely because of an error.”
In order to install correctly, open up command prompt and run the following command.

Code:
msiexec /i d:\setup.msi /qb

WARNING: Make sure to replace d:\ with the correct drive letter that the DVD is inserted into. Also, the above command will disable GUI installation, all you will see is a progress bar. After the files are copied to your hard drive, they will be located in Program Files/2K Games. The setup will then go on to activate your copy of Borderlands. After everything disappears and your computer returns to your desktop, you should be able to successfully start the game.

Troubleshooting: During installation I get an error about “d3dx9_##.dll”
Go back to #1 and update your DirectX.

Problem #3 [IMPORTANT! ] Borderlands(PC) Nvidia Problem (crash, freeze or it may not run at all)
Note : Do not update to yur Nvidia drivers 191.xx yet. As of this posting, the 191.xx drivers released are unstable and rendered some systems unusable (link). If you need to update your video card to a later version, make sure that it’s earlier than the 191.xx. (Just in case i forget to remove this note after Nvidia fixes this issue, check this post’s creation date >> date posted october 26, 2009)

Problem #4 : Borderlands Cannot connect to multiplayer/online games.
Solution A: try to turn off your firewall/anti-virus
Solution B:  you might need to open your ports. to know what ports to open for Borderlands (PC) check this link  -> http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=77897 | borderlands portforwarding.

Problem #5 : Borderlands ATI 4xxx series problem : You play normally for around 20 minutes or so, before the game suddenly freeze, screen goes black, and a message box from the CCC pops ups telling you that VPU Recover has reset your driver due to it having stopped responding. <as posted by Airship>
Solution :
Hello, same problem here with a 4870 running on windows 7 64 bit with latest release of catalyst drivers, 9.10. This is a known issue with a lot of games on their first release. Anyway my advice for you is to update your graphic drivers, maybe you can solve the problem this way. If it doesn’t i suppose we have to wait a solution from game developers or ATI’s new driver release.<as posted by renneirob>

Problem #6 : Borderlands (PC) problem where USB gamepads / controllers are not recognized or the mapping of buttons is different/wrong/awkward.
Solution : No known solutions yet

Problem #7 : Borderlands (PC) Stuttering sound problem
Solution : Reduce or turn off Directsound acceleration

Problem #8 : Borderlands (PC) Crashing to desktop / Black Screen Problem
Solution #1 : Make sure you are using the latest stable version of your Video card drivers.
Solution #2 : If you Borderlands still keeps on crashing, post your system specs and the OS you are using to run Borderlands on the comment box below plus a description of how the error occurs (does it occur in a specific area or when you do something in-game, etc)

Problem #9: Borderlands (PC) intermittent freezing problem
Solution : refer to solution #1 and solution #2 for borderlands problem #8

Problem #10 : Borderlands (PC) Data Execution Prevention error (DEP error)
Solution as posted by polka : Try to follow the steps here to disable DEP http://ask-leo.com/how_do_i_turn_off_data_execution_prevention_errors.html
Solution #2 : if it wont allow you to disable the DEP in vista, try this one : http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/1261/vista_disable_dep_noexecute_protection_fix_explorer_crashing/
Solution #3 : If you STILL cant seem to disable DEP via control panel, turn it off from the boot.ini permanently, steps outlined here : http://kb.vodor.net/idx.php/6/004/article/

Problem #11 : Borderlands (PC) General Protection Fault for multicore users
Solution : Start the game, go quick to your taskmanager select go Processes, search Borderlands.exe, Right mouse button, click “Set Affinity” disable all cpu´s except of one (run this game with one Processor).
You must do this before the game start

Problem #12 : Cant install borderlands, error message is :
setupdll\setupdll.cpp (391)
pAPP:Borderlands
etc..etc..

Solution : as posted by xcon

Try the following.

If “C” is your system drive, go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\

There you should see directory called “InstallShield”. Rename that directory to something else, for example “temp_is”. Try running Setup now.

Problem #13 : Borderlands (PC) Install on PC problem error 1722
Solution #1 :
After the installation is “complete” and the message shows that says “error 1722? and so on, turn of your computer by unplugging it or hold the button down and DO NOT press OK!

Solution #2:

1.
Elevate a command prompt by right-clicking the Command Prompt in Start:All Programs:Accessories and selecting Run as administrator…
2.
From the command prompt, run regedit.exe
3.
If you have a 32-bit system, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion.
If you have a 64-bit system, navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion
4.
Set the “DevicePath” value to “%SystemRoot%\Inf” (without the quotes).

Problem #14 : Borderlands AMD related crashes AFTER successful install.
Solution : If you have a 64-bit dual core and can play, but the game crashes out after 15-60 min and asks you to install AMD software, you should try the ‘dual-core optimizer’ from AMDs website: http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/dynamicDetails.aspx?ListID=c5cd2c08-1432-4756-aafa-4d9dc646342f&ItemID=153

If you are experiencing Borderlands PC errors that are not included in the list above, PLEASE post about it in the comment box below this page (no need to register). Include details about your system specs, error message that Borderlands gives you or at least a description of the problem.

  3. djisgod — October 27, 2009 @ 12:16 am

the game starts fine for me but when i get to the first bit where you choose you colour and outfit about 1 min afterwards my computer screen goes blank the fan on my gpu spins up and then the sound loops and my computer shuts down.im on windows vista and using a 4870. i have tried everything i can think of(new drivers new physx drivers new sound drivers) and none of them have helped. strange as i had this same problem with risen as well but all other games work fine so im thinking it may be an issue with ut3 games and physx as both these games use thatt engine and physx

  4. topgameking — October 27, 2009 @ 12:49 am

FYI if you have issues with ATI 4xxx cards crashing with black screens, try opening CCC (Catalyst Control Centre) and manually setting the fan to 50% or higher (I used 85% to be on the safe side). It seems the auto fan control gets disabled for some reason causing the cards to overheat.

  7. ScarySquirrel — October 27, 2009 @ 2:25 am

I purchased Borderlands recently and spent countless hours playing as a Siren. When I caught up to a friend in level and joined his match, I lost ALL skill points.
Also, aim assist will not toggle off.
I realize that both of these issues are marked but I would like to know when I will be able to play my main character again bug-free.

  8. GamerNerd — October 27, 2009 @ 3:28 am

The single player game works and load just fine, but when multiplayer then join game button are selected the program freezes while finding servers(or atleast it’s at a framerate of 1 per minute). every once in a while the mouse will shift if I moved it and I can get full control if I guess a few keystrokes and join a server and it fails to connect, otherwise it’s a random server after a few minutes of trying to get a response.

  15. Talynn — October 27, 2009 @ 5:22 am

There are some people complaining on the Steam version that on the “First Time Setup” That they are getting stuck on Part 2 and Part 3 of the install. Part 2 is amdcpusetup.exe, and part 3, from what I hear, is a directX setup.

I have been stuck on the second part for some time, and I have decided to delete the local content and redownload the game. But I want to know if anyone has found a fix of a workaround to this issue. Does anyone know?

I have this issue – when i try to install the game the instqallshield goes through the first part where in installs 44.6mb on my HDD but before it goes on to the lengthy installation process it just… stops. its doing nothing.

in my add\remove program i can see borderlands (44.6mb size) but i cant uninstall it. if i try i get an error like in #12. of course trying to fix it like solution #12 suggested got me nowhere. i still have installation issue.

deleting my TEMP folder didnt help either :\

    nothing works as of now….

  21. Cpark — October 27, 2009 @ 7:05 am

Ok. I posted earlier with the BSOD problem. After a lot of messing around, I have seemed to figure out how to fix it. I highly recommend never using method 2 or 3 for Problem 10 because for some people, it really messes up the computer to the point where you cant even start it. If anyone was having the same problems as me, just leave a message and I’ll explain how to fix it.

  22. Chris — October 27, 2009 @ 7:19 am

Purchased Borderlands, Pre-Installed it 2 days prior to release date. Tried to play today and I come up with a
    “Rendering Thread Exception:
    General Protection Fault!”
Type error.. I don’t really know what to do.

  23. Akira — October 27, 2009 @ 7:23 am

I am using a Logitech Rumblepad 2 and the moveforward and movebackward are switched. All other axises are working just find it’s only the left sticks Y axis that is switched.

I tried the fix that worked for Wolverine, same problem and same unreal engine, but it didn’t work.

    Any ideas?

  26. YourDad — October 27, 2009 @ 9:04 am

Anyone know if there’s ANOTHER way to help?

  27. joeb — October 27, 2009 @ 9:06 am

  28. MrBlue — October 27, 2009 @ 9:28 am

Getting a General protection fault! error. any idea why I cant launch the game?

  29. Josh — October 27, 2009 @ 9:51 am

I’m getting a really weird problem. I can start and play the game just fine, up until whenever the woman who transmits messages to you somehow. She talks for like 10 seconds, and then all of a sudden my graphics just go crazy, and many random skins and different things from the game flood my screen. Sometimes this happens, or other times my computer will completely freeze up. I’ve been experiencing the graphics problem with Counter-Strike: Source as well.

  30. Baw — October 27, 2009 @ 11:25 am

I got thie off of RSlog and it worked for me it was installing fully then it would launch then crash and i would get the 1722 error but this fixed it for me

or those who still have the “error 1722? message at the end of the installation, here is the trick :

When you have this message, DON’T PRESS “ok”.

Copy the whole folder where you intalled the game (”Borderland” folder) and put it in another place on your hard drive. Then press ok. The installation will reverse, due to the error.

Put the copy of the folder “borderland” you made in your game directory.

    Then it will work.

  31. Someone22 — October 27, 2009 @ 11:31 am

I was playing with a friend on splitscreen (him as Mordi and I as Lilith), we were in Earl’s Scrapyard, and the system locked… frozen screen, no audio, couldn’t pull up the guide menu or anything. Had to shut the 360. Booted back up, and his (host) save file was corrupted. Nothing was saving or even happening at the time, we were just looting.

So we leveled up another Mordi, and it did the same thing, in the heat of battle at Earl’s scrapyard. This time it didn’t corrupt the save.

This wouldn’t be such a problem if M$ let us back up our saves, the bastards.

The splash screen loads, screen goes black and resolution changes but then it just stops booting. I’ve got dual monitors so I kept task manager open in one of them, the process just disappears, no error message or anything. ATI x1600 2gb ram AMD3800+ 2.0ghz

  57. Jordan — October 27, 2009 @ 9:24 pm

@jiffy760 – I have very nearly the same PC build, except I have more RAM and a different mobo. My game crashes about every 30 minutes. Very annoying. I’ve tried updating drivers, but ATI’s driver installer crashes for me. I’m running out of solutions. :-)

after i click the game to run it.. the process starts on the task manager but after like 5 seconds it quits and it does nothing… any ideas?

  59. foxtrotfire — October 27, 2009 @ 10:01 pm

I had a problem while booting the game, it showed the splashscreen and then it encountered a problem and needed to close giving the error message that the device does not support pixel shader 3.0 (my graph card supports up to 4.0) The solution was to update my graph card driver ( maybe a solution to the problems of other people) But now i get a general protection fault error after playing for a while and running the game on only core 1 or core 2 doesn’t help.

4870×2 Issue: Video Card runs even hotter than normal and can’t handle high settings. I’m using the latest 9.10 catalyst suite and tried reinstalling the drivers already. The manual fan control is set to 75% which is what I use standard for TF2, Cysis, and Bioshock (and don’t have this problem). When I start the game the temp idles around 55 degrees. After 5 minutes in game the card hits 105-110. I suspect there is a general problem with ATI drivers as other 4xxx series users also have the black screen crash problem.

I found a sollution for the “error 1722″ in W7 after i tried all things that i found on this site.
After the installation is “complete” and the message shows that says “error 1722″ and so on, turn of your computer by unplugging it or hold the button down and DO NOT press OK!

I did like this and the game stays installed and works like a charm =)

RE: AMD related crashes AFTER successful install.

If you have a 64-bit dual core and can play, but the game crashes out after 15-60 min and asks you to install AMD software, you should try the ‘dual-core optimizer’ from AMDs website: http://support.amd.com/us/Pages/dynamicDetails.aspx?ListID=c5cd2c08-1432-4756-aafa-4d9dc646342f&ItemID=153

Its worked for me so far…

Problem #8 : Borderlands (PC) Crashing to desktop / Black Screen Problem

Running on a 3.2ghz single core 2gigs of ram and an ATI 2600pro. Crash occurs when pressing ‘tab’ to open the character screen/inventory. CCC shows an error message saying the VPU has reset.

    currently making the game unplayable

    I have:

    E6600 Core 2 Duo(2.4ghz)

    8800 GTS 320 MB

    Vista Ultimate 32bit

    4GB Ram

The game is really really laggy. It freezes every 10-15 seconds, usually unfreezes soon after, but I can’t get past a certain point. Skag gully (near the very beginning), right after I enter the area where the first two midgets come out. The game freezes and I have to force crash it.

When I look at the task manager the process Borderlands.exe is using over 1,000,000 K. I am sure that is why it is so laggy but just to see I dropped every single setting to bare minimum and it still is skips. Are there any ideas, my computer isn’t terrible I still play most new games at fairly high to fully high settings with no problems, but this game takes its toll at low settings and still crashes. Could it be an install problem?

When I start installing the game it simply stops at 46,6 MB can’t really get around it, tried many tips nothing works I even double checked everything. If anyone has a solution to why the installation stops suddenly it would be great!

    Thanks

  77. Dave — October 28, 2009 @ 9:50 am

So I originally encountered the installing error darklink, topeira, xanctus, and myself encountered while using xp 32bit. I upgraded to windows 7 64bit and still encounter the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! I only got to the second phase of the install once (using xp), where it reached around 45% and then hardlocked. Ever since then I can never get past the first unpacking phase (In xp or 7). It still shows the installshield icon in the taskbar although I can’t maximize it and it never progresses past that point. This is ridiculous!!! I would be forever grateful if this got figured out.

Well, this one is kind of strange, every time that girl hollograph comes up and start talking to me (I belive its the guide angel or something), when she finishes talking and the holograph disapears, the game freezes up for like 10 seconds, and then lot of graphical glitches occur, the first time it was just a big horizontal line going from the top to the bottom, the next time it was a lot of strange colors, figures and rare things. If i restart the game the glitches stay there, i have to restart my pc to fix the thing

To whoever is the writer of this article,

First of all, thanks for posting all these fixes!

But for problem number 10, you should warn people that the use of method 2 or 3 can cause severe problems, because a lot of people like myself have gotten BSOD from disabling DEP completely. You should add in another method that I found that works. Just apply the Razor1911 crack over the reloaded game client, and it will work perfectly.

in accordance to #20 comment or TOPEIRA’s problem of installation stopping after the binaries, i found a solution!!!
took me years of trawling through comments. Like topeira, my installation stopped; (this was because i cancelled it on a whim). As i tried to reinstall, it stopped after installing the binaries and the directory.

SOLUTION: This is a step by step guide to fix this problem
1.I deleted all borderlands registries with regedit
2.I deleted the 2kgames directory folder
3.After the installation minimises after the binaries section, Go to processes Ctrl+Alt+Del and find a process called 7zip. End process Tree it.
4.Doing these 3 steps made my install work, and yes it was a dumb fluke on step 3. But it works. :D happy borderlands

  119. Avocado — October 29, 2009 @ 9:41 am

I’m having problems saving. I have the RELOADED release, and on both my XP and Vista (two different computers), I cannot save anything: settings, characters, etc. I have two partitioned drives on both computers, and I tried installing on both drives with the Vista computer and still nothing; no ability to save.

When I tried the Razor1911 release, I could get only to the first town, with the robot standing in front of the door, then the robot wouldn’t get on with the quest dialog so I was permanently stuck.

Thanks for taking the time to help!

#8, my problem is very similar to vectorbased in comment 67, except my crash occurs only when accessing the inventory menu, all the other menus work fine. Upon trying to open it, the game will freeze, and several moments later the screen turns black, and I have to hard reboot.

    Pentium 4 2.9 GHz
    1.5 GB ram
radeon 2600xt AGP using catalyst 9.10 drivers (the AGP drivers for this card are unofficial, so this would be my guess)

@Green comment 110. I had the same problem as you but it started working just fine when I downloaded C++2008 (believe me I think it’ll work), but remember to download the 2008 (newest) edition of C++! Just write download C++2008 in google and u’ll have it.

You won’t believe this. I tried installing it and like usual it minimized into the taskbar after the binaries installed. I tried the 7zip thing and when I right clicked on 7zip and selected “end process tree” a confirmation popped up asking if I wanted to go through with it. Before I confirmed “end process tree” the second part of the install all of the sudden showed up and the game finished the install! Needless to say I was pretty much ecstatic. I played the game for a several hours and got up to level 13 (game is amazing).

Couple hours ago after I accidently deleted a unrelated file and had no choice but to system restore. Unfortunately I had no restore points from after the Borderlands installation and had to choose a point before the install took place. Again I am stuck in this stupid install loop and I can’t replicate the 7zip process I used earlier. This is torture. At least I got a taste and know what I’m missing out on now. : (

  126. Phoenix — October 30, 2009 @ 1:32 am

My problem is that I get through the annoying logo screens that you can’t skip. When the NVIDIA one pops up and claptrap comes out and tries to fix it. Right after that screen the games stops loading and sits at a black screen. Never crashes to Desktop just sits there. I can hear the hard drive working but the game never appears.

    System Specs:

    Windows 7 Pro
    4gb RAM
    150GB Raptor
    Creative X-Fi Fatality
    NVIDIA 8800GTX

    Avast AntiVirus
    Creative Volume panel

Sometimes the game does load, usually after a reboot but most times not. Perhaps its something to do with my antivirus. I thought it was my volume panel as the game worked once when I disabled that but that didn’t work this time. Frustrating. Any thoughts?

For those who get the General Protection Fault error, using only one core/cpu (problem #11) indeed fixed my issue. But funny thing is it only works if the core assigned to the game is the first one.. not sure why.

Hi, i had the following issue on my PC version of borderlands “Issue: (360, PS3) Equipped items disappear upon leaving a co-op game or on level transition in co-op games”
    My PC build is as follows;

    Gigabyte 275 GTX
    8800 Quad core CPU
    8gb DDR2 RAM
    EVGA 780i SLI motherboard
    1tb HDD
    Windows Vista 64bit OS

My items dissappeared as soon as i joined my first multiplayer game, and was unavaliable even in my single player game after that.

I’d like to name the awesome weapons i had, but theres like a million different weapons so i guess i’ll just have to shrug my shoulders on that one.

I get the 1722 error on install, fixed this by not clicking ok when the error message pops up and then copying the installed files to a new location then copying them back after clicking ok which deletes all the install files.

I was playing the game all last night, woke today switched comp on tried to play the game and its all gone and I need to install again.

This is ridiculous. 2k Games are swanks for releasing this game without a fix!

  160. Josh — November 2, 2009 @ 1:36 am

The repro rate on the PS3 soft crash (freeze) needs to be bumped up from Low Frequency to 85-100% frequency. I haven’t been able to get the game NOT to crash. I could put the game in now and play it split-screen for maybe 10 minutes (if lucky) before it will freeze. It is very disappointing to have waited so long for a game that needs 2 more months of QA. It is 100% repro rate on split screen, and about a 75% on online multiplayer. It would be nice to see a fix implemented soon because I was really enjoying the game, but these issues will keep me from playing it any further or speaking of it fairly to others. It is another typical case of a studio and publisher undervaluing QA. If you would treat QA staff as well as developers you maybe would have had a game released on time without these issues. Quality assurance is the most important part of game development. They make sure your product works. You have essentially killed any chance of favorable consumer review by releasing a candidate that contains multiple A level showstoppers. Why should I or any other user have to deal with a near constant crash when I can just write this game off as bad and move on?

So I grabbed my roommates copy of XP and reinstalled what was previously Vista 64. I no longer have an issue with my video stuttering anymore but with XP now installed I’m seeing a new video issue. Just like post #141 above, I am perfectly fine up until the point where I exit the bus and the robot is handing me the HUD. At that point, the music will continue but the game seems to hang. I let it sit that way and it never crashes to desktop but I have to either reboot my machine or wait for the task manager to show up and close it that way.

My audio has started to bug for some reason and it seems to be caused by a SMG I just found. Never had the issue earlier. Anyway, I can hear a small sound that speakers make when their about to fall apart due to playing too loud. The sound comes for a millisecond, then the audio plays as normal. Then after a while, the audio breaks completely and everything sounds lika 1-bit sound and/or a modem. Anyone else having this issue?

I have an onboard, disabled audio device and a SB Audigy 2. If I close Borderlands the sound works normally again. Otherwise I have to disable and enable the device and everything goes back to normal.

I have a quadcore Amd Phenom II 940 Black Edition, 4gb of ram, onboard Audio (Realtek ALC), SB Audigy 2, Windows 7 x64, freshly installed. Latest drivers for chipset, audio, graphics and everything else.

One work-around for the “Installation ended prematurely because of an error.” problem is to do a silent install, like this: start –> Run –>

So I installed the game, but I had to uninstall it because I did something wrong with the files. When I uninstalled it, I didn’t restart the computer when it said to, and now I can’t seem to reinstall the game.

Anyone know how to fix that?

I have had a problem with my game freezing on the xbox 360. We had just finished fighting krom. When we teleported back to new haven the games audio started to skip. But it really didn’t effect our game play, so we continued. When we went to turn in the quest the game froze up, alone with the xbox. Now even if we try to play are characters by themselfs the game still freezes up. Now it says our characters are corrupted. Please help!!!!

So I get the random, intermittent freezing problem. I never do anything specific, it is completely random. The game will lock up until I hit Alt+Ctrl+Del, then Cancel. Once I do this, the game runs fine for a few minutes.

    Any ideas?

I get a pirate version with a friend… and when the installation bar reaches the end a window appears saying I dont have administrator privileges… then the download bar rolls back…

I managed to resolve the problem by myself after hours of search in the internet (thats how I found this page) but nothing helps… so I’ll put it here to help anyone with the same problem. (is acctualy easy =D)

When the bar reaches the end and the window appears DONT click ok… go to the 2K folder and move all Borderlands folder to another place (I moved to the desktop) then go to the folder binaries and click “borderlands.exe” file… a mesage will appear saying some .dll file is missing… search the file in internet (sorry… dont remember right now the name or the site i’ve found it) download it, and copy the file to the folder “binaries”… and play… very simple right =D

    Hope this help someone…
    have fun! xD

  185. bulletproof — November 6, 2009 @ 3:10 am

Whiley u have to copy the crack in the binaries folder to play if it’s a pirate. Do this while the installation is on, before the screen pops up and rolls back the installation

Hi, I have a different problem from all of you actually… I run the game fine after getting past the initial physx problem which was solved by downloading the latest nvidia physx program from their website…

Now i run the game and it looks beautiful. all options at full and it still runs smoothly, however the problem starts when
    1) i get hit by a flock of rakks.
    2) i use the rocket launcher on enemies about 1-2 feet from me.

my comp instantly restarts and i get a CMOS clock reset.

hopefully someone can help me there.

I found on my quad core Phenom II 940, on the Asus M3a32 mother board when I had the ganged mode memory option set to enabled I would experience random crashes and blue screens with various causes, I set the Memory option to unganged and the problems have not reoccurred in some time now. If your system bios has the option to gang or ungang the memory on the AMD memory controllers try setting it to unganged.

i’ve tried the following methods with no success:

-replacing borderlands.exe with a cracked version and also adding a .dll called “reloaded.dll” that came with the crack

Freezes with the PURE VIRTUAL FUNCTION CALL series of errors, i have gone through and checked that i have the newest drivers for everything including chip set, and so far nothing. No specific areas, just i play for a while and it freezes and that happens. Sometimes hours sometimes 30 seconds. Usually lasts longer if i go into msconfig and disable all unnecessary services and run reboot/run the game. It no difference between single and multi player, though eventually it will stop loading texture, like it will be so that the whole map is blue, and all you can see are buildings and vehicles and the players, and the guns that enemies are holding but not the enemies themselves. That problem gets progressively worse until it is either a. unplayable or b. it crashes.

    I used to have the DEP problem, so I tried the solution here and managed to shut DEP down. Instead, it seems I get the same problem, only now it has nothing to do with DEP. In other words, the game doesn’t even start, I just instantly get the message;

    Borderlands has stopped working.

Before, Windows told me that DEP was blocking it. Now, DEP is off, Windows doesn’t say anything about DEP, but the end result is the same. The game doesn’t start, it just shuts down instantly.
I also tried installing the latest video drivers, but with no luck.

Okay I’ve finally found a solution to topeira’s problem and many others that were having problems with frozen installs. Nothing worked, even ~6 system restores..

I had a power outage during the install and trying to reinstall now just minimizes the Borderlands setup for hours while it does nothing.

Solution may vary for you but it worked for me on Windows 7 64bit.

While Borderlands setup is “minimized” on your taskbar,
ALT CTRL DELETE and go to your Task Manager, Processes tab.

Find 7zip.exe and rightclick it, Open File Location.

It will take you to an AppData\Local\Temp folder with a lot of numbers and letters.

Now doubleclick and open 7zip and let it extract some stuff.

Now in the same folder, open 7zFM.. Navigate to your DVD, and find Borderlands.dat.001, doubleclick it, highlight everything in the box and extract it to your Program Files \ Borderlands folder.

Once all 7GB or so are extracted and in the correct location, run the installation one more time and it will finish installing the other DLLs that you need.

Replace Borderlands.exe and you’re good to go.

I just uninstalled Borderlands and found there was still an additional 2.88 GB that wasn’t deleted. I downloaded Revo Uninstaller to find the remaining bits and pieces and Revo successful did just that. However, now that I’m trying to reinstall the game, the installer only gives me the option to Repair or Remove files. If I click repair or remove, I get the following error:
‘Error 1721. There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run.’

I forgot to say that before doing these steps for problem #6 solution you must delete the saved game propably you have from C:\Users\admin\Documents\My Games\Borderlands\SaveData (everything in this file must be delete) and also you must delete all the ***.ini files from C:\Users\admin\Documents\My Games\Borderlands\WillowGame\Config (when you will start new game all the ****.ini files will be recreated). So after you use my problem #6 solution is all ok, but just do not, while in game, try to change from options menu the gamepad configuration because then the default XBOX360 controller mapping is “back” and unchangable!!!!So becareful or just not try to change gamepad configuration from options menu!!!
So Everything you want to change try from willowinput.ini and nowhere else!!!!

    PLEASE HELP!!!

    LOADING SAVED CHARACTER CLASH

My Borderland quits with error everytime I load my saved characters. I have been playing fine and loading/saving characters online and offline and it worked fine for some time until now.

I have tried deleting all my save data and I can get into the game just fine. I tried restoring the save data and it clashed again when I select any saved characters in the game menu (happens for both singleplayer and online/LAN).

Here are some details of the error:

Users with ATI 4850 cards and random crashes, should try to underclock the gpu to 600MHZ and gpu memory to 950MHz. This worked for me.
I know it’s not a good solution, but I see no performance loss, atleast not in 1680×1050 resolution all settings att high.

Problem 13 error 1722(which should only occur if you are using WIN 7)cannot be solved,i have tried every solution on the net including the 1 given by game site, the only option is to install VISTA,i know that might sound horrible but believe me its worth it.This in my opinion is the best fps of all time,it has great graphics at max settings better then console versions, extemely rewarding due to the fact that you become stronger everytime you level up,get skill points and the best guns you have ever scene.this game also has a feature new to fps games(that ive played anyway),when you lose all you health you will go into a mode where you cannot move but you can shoot and if you can frag some1 or thing before the timers up you come back with full shield bar how awesome is that!I also have a very helpful tip 4 you guys if there is no1 close to you that you can frag to comeback press esc and load again you are still gonna have to start from the checkpoint anyway, before you respawn this way you will not lose money for dying.I gt this re5, mw2,sf4,fifa 10 and red faction all on the same day which was 3 weeks ago all are great but this is by far the best.If unreal3 and fallout3 had sex this would be there love child.I love this game.

  241. Jeffrey — December 9, 2009 @ 5:35 am

I read all the comments on this page and I happilly found people having the same Problem as I.

Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
    Manufacturer : Compaq Presarior 061
    AMD Anthlon(TM) 64 Processor 3500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2Ghz
    Memory :1278MB DDR1 RAM ( 1.7gb ram hardware installed )
    DirectX 9.0c
    NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT
    (1gb version) Main Driver :nv4_disp.dll Version: 6.14.0011.9107

I installed a crack version, Got passed the Error 1722 at Installation myself (Though I don’t think safely because i try numerous times and the error doesn’t pop up), but when i start the game, i get some graphic issues such as:
1)Purplish with random colored boxes fill the screen and the video gets distorted and random colors everywhere. So I don’t even see the actual game.
2)Restart the game, I freeze terribly at the U-Station when I exit character editing. Freeze for a while and then move for half a second and freeze again. -Turns off computer by holding the Power button-.
3)Run Game, low frame rate compared to when I first started playing the game. And then Freezes. -Turns off computer by holding the Power button-. (Again) No error, though I hear one pop up, but cannot exit the game or Alt-Tab or CTRL-ALT-DEL my way out. I also tried the fix for Error 1722 on this Page.

I believe this is due to my Graphics driver at 191.xx and I understand this, but I cannot find a previous driver.(Fix #3)

    Please help, Thanks.

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Spanish with SP3

    Driver: Catalyst 9.11 AGP hotfixed.

    Hardware:
    DFI Lanparty UT NF3 Ultra-D, AMD Athlon XP +3800×2 2GHZ Manchester, RAM 2GB DDR 400mhz A-data, XFX 4650 1024mb AGP, PSU Antec True Power Trio 650W, HDDs SATA2: x4=770GB, LCD Viewsonic VX922.

Same as other user, I play OK, but it freezes every 20 minutes or so…I have to hard reset. Sound keeps playing normally, just music dough, but screen stays frozen with game image (not corrupted or anything, just frozen). Not during an intensive scene either, mostly when walking around, turning (not during shootouts). Numlock responds and it seems that the OS continues to process in background, but it doesn’t kill the process and the keyboard seems locked, can’t alt-tab or anything.
Lame, it started to happen when I reached the middle of the game, more or less. At the begining it worked perfectly.
Can’t finish the freakin game because of this BUG.
    Patch to fix this PLEASE!!!!

I bought a nvidia x9500, had it updated, because my old card had shader model 2.0b. I now have 4.0 when I only required 3.0

Borderlands starts, I put it on minimum graphics possible, start single player new character… cutscene gets to where he sais “the legend of the vault is real! and it is here on…” and it crashes. every time.

The message I get when it sends me to desktop is:

    Rendering thread exception:
I/O Failure operating on ‘Unkown file’

and a whole heap of computer jargon crud…

Tried the ctrl+alt+del use only 1 processor thing, tried the willowengine disable cutscene thing. neither help with the cutscene im talking about.

I have all the required specs to run borderlands.

Its not normally like me to post for help on something, but after so many hours browsing forums, im still no closer to playing the game.

    Help much appreciated.

    The game installed fine.
During play, the game will occasionally freeze. Sometimes the textures were crash and not render, other times the screen will remain intact but non responsive. The only way to get it back is to hit Ctr + Alt + Del, and then hit escape. The game screen will go black for a few seconds, then the game will come back on.
After the first crash, it seems to happen more often.
It also seems to occur in certain areas, more often than others.

I am trying to install Borderlands on Windows 7 Home Premium (64). I used to run in perfectly on Windows XP Home (32).

In fact I have a free drive and Im thinking of also installing my old Windows XP as a secondary OS so I can play the game at least.

Anyway, when I run the setup i starts installing and at around 44 seconds from the installation a window with an error 1335 asks me to abort, retry or ignore. If I retry the same window comes again. If I ignore another window comes up with error 2350 and it reverts the installation.

I tried deleting the temp files. The MSI drivers should be fine because in between I managed to install the new Batman game and a few other applications. I tried the code in CMD to run setup directly from DVD but still the same. I also tried ticking (only me) when the installation asks for the permission rights to use the game.

Pls give me some more hints I don’t want to give up on playing the game on my new windows 7 yet.

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium
    Intel Quad Core 2.40
    4GB of RAM

1722 Install fix (when giving error at the end)

Step 1: Remove Windows Temp Files
    Step 2: Turn off firewall/anti-virus
Step 3: Open Elevated Command promt
Start>Programs>accessories Right click CMD Run as admin
Step 3: type msiexec /i d:\setup.msi /qb while making sure to change d to your CD drive path.

Step 4: when/if it erros at the end, hold the power button down on your pc to do a hard shutdown.

Upon opening the game, it should now work as in open up at least.

This may not work but it worked for me. Also since you did a hard shutdown i would suggest running 2 commands in an elevated command promt incase any files got damaged. They will take some time but be good in the end. First run command chkdsk /f to make sure you didnt damage your hard drive, and if you did, force a fix. next run sfc /scannow just in case you damaged any system files. this will repair some. if your vista was like mine, sometimes running it 30 times to get it all as it does have a cap on how much it can fix at a time. Just because your computer “works” doesnt mean you didnt damage anything. small damages have a large effect long term and add up over time

Clean the air ports on the side of your PS3. that could cause it to overheat and crash the game. for some reason this game is very heavy on the ps3 and may be causing this. 70% of games freezing on the PS3 are due to this fact. just grab a can of canned air and go to town on all the vents.

Problem: I will load up Borderlands and 99% of the time, after about 2-10min of playing or even just sitting on the title screen my computer will restart as if its lost power eg: it will turn off with no prompts or error messages, then a few seconds later it will reboot, after rebooting there are still no error messages to explain what happened. This problem of restarting only happens whilst playing a game, I can surf the net for hours on end with no problems. This problem only started occurring recently, I had been able to play Borderlands fine from christmas when I got it and the GTS 250, until a couple of days ago. I’ve rolled back the nvidia drivers twice now as people seemed to solve similar problems that way, however that has not worked for me.

  283. KnockOnTheSky — January 14, 2010 @ 3:42 pm

I start installing Borderlands, it goes fine until installation reaches zero, Securom does its check and it goes “Unknown Error. Please contact http://www.2kgames.com/borderlands/activation.
    WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?

  284. Fracsi — January 15, 2010 @ 2:26 am

    For Phill Rogers.

The problem you described is often caused by overheating – this can be your graphic card or CPU.
Newer games take more advantage of graphic cards and CPUs, using more electricity, thus heating them more.

Try to clean your PC, the fans.

i have problem number 9, i get frozen after a few seconds in game.. i reinstalled it a couple of times, i got it to work somehow but only once, since then i get freezes after a few moments.. i tried putting all my settings to the minimum, doesn’t do it, my drivers are up to date .. don’t know what to do.
    verry frustrating.

I have a launch PS3, but I’ve installed a 500 GB harddrive. Borderlands worked perfectly long enough for me to beat it twice with Mordecai, but now that I’ve gotten Lilith to level 49 everytime I try to play the game it either freezes on the first loading screen before the main menu or the first time I try to travel between locations and the only way to shut down is the flip the power switch. All my other games work fine and Borderlands did for ages too. The disc is scratch and warp free, not a blemish on it.What can I do?

when enter the game has sound but it will stop at random. sound will be back only when restart the comp. and when i tried open realteck hd sound effect manager after the sound lock the software will hang. i’ve never tried without realteck software running but i’ve tried disable it once and i can’t hear no sound so in a way the rig need that software. and i notice ati also have hd sound driver installed. maybe the two software is conflict…. but i just can’t figure out what to do.

    the same thing happen with Battlefield 2 / Brothers in Arms – Hell’s Highway / Command & Conquer™ Red Alert™ 3 / Left 4 Dead 2 / Resident Evil 5 / Call of Duty(R) 4 – Modern Warfare(TM).

Then when I try to uninstall it, I get a bunch of other errors. I have tried copying the whole folder from an old computer, but it had a Nvidia card, so when I tried to run it on my new computer, I get “physX.dll or something is missing”. Well, i have no errors at all, after succesfully installed Borderlands, i start the game as should be “normal”. But, after all cutscenes end, the screen looks weird, i can only see black, grey and sometimes yellow, and blue from the sky (the menus display all ok). After i start the game, still the same error. Cutscenes look great, and the game actually works, but only the menus, the huds, enemy/object info are correctly displayed. I tried to play it as it anyway, but not only its not the same, i can find a door (by the visual glitch/bug). The Install, the Sound and the Game worked great.

    Drivers up to date (see date in comment);
    AMD Sempron 1600 Mhz
    Nvidia GeForce 6200

Yes, i know, i know. I “don´t meet” the minium requirements.
The game runs, i don´t get much lag, load time is ok, sound works, and my video card meets the 3.0 Pixel Shader and 256 RAN needed, there are no BIG differences.
It should run correctly, as it seems to be that some Nvida video card models are not fully supported (not ALL under Nvidia 8800). This happens to me (Nvidia GeForce 6200), GeForce 6500 and 7100 Users as far as i know.

By the way, i still think this game is great. But as far as 10 pages of Google and i still can fix my problem. Oh well, i will Uninstall Borderlands and Opposing Force and move to (Fan Made) Opposing Force 2 :P

    Sorry for my horrible english.

I have the PS3 version of borderlands. after I left a game, my account, unfortunately, reverted bact to a new character at the same level that I was before(61/general knoxx). My skill poits were still there, but my equipped weapons simply dissapeared, along with some good items also equipped. my inventory is bact to 12 and I cannot get to the second playthrough. there are no mainstream missions left to do, so I cannot simply “replay” the game. All add-ons also start from the beginning, but with the story quests available.None of my other characters can “bring” my broken account to playthrough 2 with them. If anything, I assume that this is a result ofresult of an attempted exploit of the game; I was online when another person came into my group and dropped some weapons, telling me to kick him. I, of course, picked up the weapons after he left. he messaged me later and asked me to add him as a friend. I did and he invited me to a group. when I appeared in his group, I found that I was basically a new character with some really good weapons and the highest possible level. I left after dropping his weapons for him( he told me his duplication attempt) and tried to fix my account. no such luck. The account saved and I don’t know whether I will ever get back to playing on that character. Help , Please?

Every time I attempt to run Borderlands, I get a runtime error. Problem displayed is as follows:

    General protection fault!

History: GetPluginCount() Address = 0xaade9a (filename not found) [in c:\programfiles\steam\steamapps\common\borderlands\Binaries\Borderlands.exe]
    GThread::OnExit() Address = 0x13a6925 (filename not found) [in c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\borderlands\Binaries\Borderlands.exe]
RtlAllocateHeap() Address= 0x7c9101db (filename not found) [in C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntdll.dll]

A second window after that pops up.

    Runtime error!
    c:\program files\… (can’t read the rest, as I can’t expand the box)
    R6025
    -pure virtual function call

For the record, I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program twice, and all of these files are, in fact, in the folders that they should be in.

Not that my thoughts are worth much, because I’m clearly asking how to fix the problem, but the very first time I tried to run the program I stopped it in the middle of the configuration for the first time game run (which involved the installation of three separate things.) One of them had to do with Windows, and that was the one I stopped while downloading. Perhaps I corrupted a file or two that are vital for this program by stopping this download?

    Thanks for the help.

For all you noobs who keeps getting this error

“This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem”

    1) Make sure you have installed dotnet 3.5 SP1
    http://devilsworkshop.org/download-complete-microsoft-net-framework-35-setup/

    2) Download VC++ 2008 SP1 (This is the ONLY VC package with which it will work, as far as I know

I corrected my copy of Boderlands that would not load when starting the game through Steam.
My fix only required me to download and install Ageia PhysX.

As soon as it was installed my copy loads and now runs great.

Only problem with my fix is that neither Steam or GearBox were of any help. As a matter of fact I am still waiting for a reply

After install and first play the game will crash when I go to the main menu. Attempts to load the save file will cause a crash. After starting with a new char and stopping after a save point, the game will crash, further attempts to load save file or create new char will result in a crash on or after splash screen. Deleting the save files allows me to play through with a new character but I basically have to start from scratch each time I begin the game.

also google this program – borderlands advanced config, in this program there will be tickboxes for performance tweaks, you can try unticking physx inside this program as its really not needed

    Hey guys,
I really need help, I installed the game, but it was very laggy and i only had about 1-3 FPS, as well as very long loading times, now i realise that i can downgrade the graphics. Anyway, I uninstalled it and all that, but i says that i still have it. I used the command prompt uninstall thing because of the error on the installation, and now every time i try to uninstall it it says error 1721. What should I do? What I am trying to do is ‘uninstall’ it and then re install it.

  382. Bomb Shell — June 7, 2010 @ 8:06 pm

I’ve scrolled through 381 comments and it seems as though some are having the same problem as me, but nobody seems to be coming up with anything.

I’ve gone through the first bit of the game up until i need to hop into the car. Driving control menu pops up, and it freezes, black screen and shoots to desktop.

The kicker is that I’ve actually gotten so annoyed with it, that i found out how to get passed the jump without having to jump off the ramp…

As you fall off the first ledge (on the side that you take off from the ramp), hug the little valley’s (of the enormous hole you’re in) wall. You’ll see a bit of an incline that’ll let you walk up it and eventually you’ll get to a corner that as you keep jumping and crouch when you’re at the peak of your jump, you’ll get a little stuck which will allow you to jump again to a higher position…

The problem however is that the mission actually needs for you to get into the vehicle… i’ve already had it register as the jump completes (the area on the adjacent ramp triggers it), but the other two parts of the mission remain incomplete. I wouldn’t mind if the game had a fast travel at this point (and considering that i’m using the chick, she hauls a** while invisible) it’s just getting annoying and future missions won’t become available.

someone help me,or ‘christine’, or ‘susith’, or ‘lord RDD’

  383. Bomb Shell — June 8, 2010 @ 1:08 am

wow… what are the odds?! I’ve sorta figured out a way around it completely.

To finish the mission (drive the vehicle [], and find gate lock []), I got into the car and as soon as the control menu was done, I bailed (for me there was like 3 seconds usually where i could drive before the screen went blank) and quickly went and saved just in case the game froze again (saving wasn’t necessary now that i think of it)… because I already found out how to get across the gorge (above post), and i walked passed the ramp (triggering the other criteria of the mission) all i had to do was walk back to the gate lock and the mission was over…

however… i tried driving again, and the game still froze.. but at least it unlocked new missions, and the game is still progressing. Just means i’m going to have to book it everywhere.

If you can’t find the corner of the gorge to jump up, theres also a big hole in the wall of the mountain near the gate that you can jump up if you lock yourself in the far corner with the same jumping method above…

BUT STILL, if anyone finds out how to get the driving working, please post it!

I’ve got one heck of a marathon to run now…

… i’m sure if you search for it, you’ll find it. No more glitches with driving. Hope this helps the few who were having difficulties with this, and the few who may have it in the future.

My borderlands worked fine a while back but now while sometimes the frames freeze, some weird colorization occurs and my screen loses its connection to my graphics card and starts scanning for a signal followed by a blue screen of death.
It has even occurred that my screen starts flashing the desktop on and off when I REBOOTED from borderlands.

If anyone has experienced the same problem I’d like to know about it, ( Cityjohn@hotmail.com ) thanks in advance.

if anyone using ATI cards and get random crashes anywhere from 5 to 60 minutes, try reducing your core and memory clock by 50mhz in catalyst control center, this stopped every crash for me across various games this happened in – damn UE3

#8, tried updating drivers, they said I was up to date.

All I do is I try to start up Borderlands, and the little image of borderlands stuff (with the guy doing the fake finger gun to his head, with a bunch of guys in the background). SOMETIMES it’ll go into the black screen, and I even got it to work. once. It won’t do it again, and it just stays on the loader.

For the most part the game runs fine, but every now and then I’ll lose complete control of the game and audio for a brief period. By lose control I mean mouse and keyboard input doesn’t work but during the brief loss of control it remembers what the last controls I pressed were ie if I was walking forward the character will walk forward until I regain control. Weird.

My borderlands seems to work but I cant play it with the normal colored screen. My game has the movies colored but my opening screen and when I play is dark and I cant seem to kill anything because of it. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me out with this problem.
    Thanks

Have played the game to make it through to LV50 Playthrough 2 as a Soldier. Playing Jacob Cove -> Hallows End -> Dr Ned Contacted and whenever I get to the 1st save checkpoint heading to the right, the system/game crashes as soon as you shoot at the SI Defier when he attacks. Can I fix this bug?

I just bought borderlands for my PS3 and once I start playing for more than 10 mins it automatically freezes. But I’ve narrowed it down to this. It’s patch 1.3 thats causing it. Because if I play it without the patch (without online aswell) it works just fine. But as soon as I let it patch the game it freezes every 10 mins. Gearbox, I’m never buying games that you’re involved with ever again.

    Problem #2

    Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 @1.86GHz, no overclock
    2GB RAM
    eVGA GeForce 8800GT 512MB (257.21 drivers)

I don’t know if the problem will occur everywhere because I can’t leave Fyrestone. I start the game, everything’s fine, I load up my 32 hunter and the game crashes immediately after all the textures pop in.

I have an ATI Radeon HD 5870 and I get squares and my GPU tries to restart all the time on Borderlands. I get the grey screen of death and after the GPU recovers sometimes the squares stay up even though the game is still playable. I thought it was a bad card, but it seems the more and more I play other games that something’s messed up with Borderlands.

  410. Celeste — July 26, 2010 @ 3:48 am

    I’m a LVL 34 Support Gunner Soldier in Borderlands, and i would love to continue playing the game, but when i wanted to play in multiplayer, it wanted me to update to 1.3.0. So, i updated, but now, i can’t play it anymore. It always crashes on the startup, and it always says this;

  413. R6025 Errors — July 31, 2010 @ 1:48 am

    To fix R6025 Errors;

    Just go into;

    Start>My Computer>Program Files

Than, make a new file. I named mine ’2K Games 2′

    Than, uninstall Borderlands.

When you are re-installing it, change the directory to the new folder, in my example, 2k Games 2.

And voila. You can now play your new game.

Ok this is what i have done after i had crashes, freezes and other numerous bugs.
!FOR THOSE WHO EXPERIENCE MAP LOADING ISSUES!

    1) If u own AVG antivirus, uninstall it.
    2) Reinstall the game
    3) Install other AV

After that, all my problems magically disappeared, and now i enjoy game without crashes, bugs, freezes, or anything else.
Also looks like AVG is not very “game friendly” application

NOTE: I don’t know does this works with other AV’s but, you can try. It’s a 15 minute job

  415. Tycho — August 12, 2010 @ 2:56 pm

An issue has been introduced in ATI Catalyst 10.7 which causes regular freezing, freezing to a black screen every 15 or so minutes. And occasional crash to desktop.

I’ve seen this issue on Radeon 58XX and 48XX cards. It probably effects more.

Disabling Catalyst A.I fixes the problem.

Firslty i had an issue with borderlands not launching, this i fixed by updating DirectX, after that, launched every time.

Secondly i had issued with the game freezing every 20-60 minutes, that was fixed by uninstalling the 10.7 drivers and installing 10.6.

Everything works fine now, hope this helps.

  433. Matt — August 23, 2010 @ 7:52 am

We thought the Steam version of the game ran fine on my computer until we joined an online game. Now, we know the character’s movement speed is like 1/2 what it’s supposed to be.

With all of the video settings up, my framerate is 60+, and everything renders properly, but the character moves as though she’s on the moon. Runs at half speed. Jumps and falls at half speed. She appears that way on my screen as well as on the other players’ screens.

I haven’t found a problem like this on the various forums.

We turned down all of the video settings, and nothing changed. The CPU is only at 60% usage while playing.

Any ideas what is causing it?

    Thanks!

  434. Matt — August 23, 2010 @ 8:18 am

Follow-up to the previous. We tried having me host a game, and when a friend joined, he was able to move at normal speed in the server, but all of the NPCs and mobs were moving at 1/3-1/2 speed. Also, we found out all of my movies cinematics are playing at really low speeds.

I’ve played borderlands fine all weekend, then I had my dlc’s pop up saying they finished downloading, and I tried the game and the graphics are screwed up. some places have glitches so bad I can’t see at all, and all my guns are very fuzzy. I tried resetting the graphics, but it didn’t help.
