Comments on: Fixing Bioshock 2 Crashes, Freezing, No sound, Startup problems, Black screen, cinematic and install problems

I have deleted all my saved games, and yet still the image in my bioshock 2 game keeps freezing and unfreezing, or running really slowly. There is a serious graphics problem that i never used to have before (I’ve owned this game for about 3 months and it is only now that the problems are starting) Does anyone have any solutions?

Well… I’ve encountered another problem…
It’s the audio, and the cutscenes…
After you buy or get a new plasmid, and put it in an open spot, starts the instruction video for the plasmid, here starts the problem. The audio starts okay, then it loops and the hole movie freezes, than continues for a second than stopps again… I need to press the Space button repedivlly untill I can get out of the instruction movie. Same thing for cutscenes, only with cutscenes it’s much worse, since you can’t skip cutscenes. A cutscenes starts fine, audio is okay and all, then it starts looping and the cutscenes freezes! I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL out of the game (I’m talking about the ending scene, I can skip the intro but if I want to continue watching the intro, the same thing happens)…
Someone please help me!
Oh… I also have a problem with the first Big Sister fight, it laggs alot… (Yes, there is already an issue up there but I wanted to say I have too and someone should fix it, since I googled it and haven’t seen results).

i have a problem. I don’t understand why the game crash when i launch the multiphyer mode. The singl mode works fine but not the multiplayer mode. Have youe got an idea of this problem ?

Guiz please help, my Bioshock 2 randomly freezes in-game then goes to a black screen and then resumes, after a few seconds of playing it happens again rendering the game unplayable. DX9 mode doesn’t help nor does anything else.
I can only ctrl-alt-delete out of the game and I get a message telling me my display driver stopped working and recovered. Please, I really wanna play this game.

Game-play performance is fine, cut-scenes and “loading” screens play correctly, everything works fine except menus (vending machines, tonics/plasmids equip screens, options menus…). When I go to one of those the cursor lags (I move the mouse or click and the movement actually happens several seconds later, also the smallest movement of the mouse on those menus translates to a VERY large movement of the cursor.

“Problem #6 : Bioshock 2 framerate drops when accessing menus (pause menu and map menu)”
I’m using XP SP3 and there’s another solution for this problem, and the others related to playing bik files (for example the freezing plasmid choice screen).
Go to your game folder, then SP\Builds\Binaries and set the compatibility mode for both Bioshock2.exe and Bioshock2Launcher choosing “Windows 2000″. The menus don’t freeze anymore, you can access the plasmid menu etc. BUT it doesn’t solve all problems, for example the intro movie still stutters (but I thing it’s better than freezing).

Bioshock2 crashes and says “Bioshock2 has stopped working windows will inform you if we have found a solution to your problem” when i try play a new game for the 1st time at the part when it says “Ten years later” What do i do please help

I too am having a problem with the cursor freezing on startup. The game will load the intro screen Bioshock 2 logo and the cursor just sits in the middle of it frozen. Behind the logo will be an error message warning that my graphics card isn’t recommended when it actually is. I have to force shut down to regain my system. This is the Steam game using Windows Live. Real pain to even start this game. Wish I had read the misery reports before buying it.

when i install bioshock 2, it goes throught the installation normally until it goes to activate it. it just freezes up and i have to force shutdown to fix it. not even the cursor moves.
